Basalt Fiber Roving

Basalt fiber is a continuous fiber drawn from natural basalt. It is a continuous fiber drawn at high speed through a platinum-rhodium alloy wire drawing plate after the basalt material is melted at 1450℃~1500℃. The color of pure natural basalt fiber is generally brown. Basalt fiber is a new type of inorganic environmentally friendly green high-performance fiber material. It is composed of oxides such as silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, iron oxide and titanium dioxide. Basalt continuous fiber not only has high strength, but also has many excellent properties such as electrical insulation, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. Basalt fiber is made by melting basalt ore at high temperature and drawing it. It has silicates similar to natural ore. It can be biodegraded in the environment after being discarded and is harmless to the environment.

China has listed basalt fiber as one of the four major fibers (carbon fiber, aramid, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, basalt fiber) for key development and has achieved industrial production. Basalt continuous fibers have been widely used in fiber reinforced composites, friction materials, shipbuilding materials, thermal insulation materials, automotive industry, high temperature filter fabrics and protection fields.

Product description

Roving is made by combining multiple parallel strands of raw yarn or single parallel strand of raw yarn without twisting.

The working temperature range is -260℃ to 880℃, softening point is 960℃, the long-term use temperature can reach 650℃, and the limiting oxygen index is greater than 68.

  • Strong corrosion resistance: Basalt fiber twisted yarn has strong resistance to corrosive substances such as acids and alkalis, and is suitable for harsh environments.

  • Environmental protection: The production process of basalt fiber twisted yarn does not produce chemical wastewater and waste gas, which meets environmental protection requirements and is regarded as a green textile material.

  • Multifunctionality: Basalt fiber twisted yarn also has anti-static and antibacterial properties, and is widely used in clothing, home textiles and other fields. In addition, its unique moisture absorption and perspiration function makes it have broad application prospects in sportswear, underwear and other fields.
